Coastal Protection of Dennery Village, St Lucia
The government of St. Lucia retained SWIL to assess protection options and to develop appropriate recommendations and design for the coastal town of Dennery. Funded by the World Bank
Develop appropriate recommendations and design for the coastal town of Dennery.
For this coastal protection project we: carried out hydrological studies of two rivers that flow through the town; developed physical mitigation options with preliminary costs and economic analyses; carried out an EIA for the proposed options; developed detailed designs; developed a project management framework for implementation of the physical works, including the role of government agencies, other stakeholders and external consultants for implementation of the works; finalised bidding documents and managed all pre-construction tasks. Designs were also prepared to alleviate flooding along the downstream banks of the Dennery River & the improvement of drainage within the Trou A L’Eau Ravine.
We provided construction supervision and environmental management services through all phases. Project was completed on time & within budget.
